Survivor Cagayan Episode 9 Coverage

Sitting In My Spy Shack

As soon as Solarrion landed back on their beach, Jefra asked, “Who flipped on the alliance?” Tony immediately spoke up and said, “Woo & I.” Tony was not afraid to tell his alliance that LJ was a big threat to him & the only way to get him out was to blindside him & his alliance. Trish, Jefra & Kass were too close to LJ & if the slightest noise about his blindside would cause them to react. Spencer mentioned at tribal council that the “final six” was falling apart.

ep9jtKnowing the heat was on Tony, the following morning Tony constructed his second “Spy Shack” in hopes to catch his alliance’s conversations without him. Trish & Jefra met to discuss Tony’s actions. After LJ’s blindside, Jefra told Trish she no longer trusts Tony. Trish continued to tell Jefra its okay & the alliance will remain in the majority even without LJ. This added to Tony’s paranoia.

Challenge – Reward

Rove, Rove, Rove Your Boat

ep9reward

The teams has to go out in a boat to retrieve paddles with letters on them. The first team to come back with all the paddles and use them to figure a common Survivor phrase (“Worth playing for”), wins.
Reward: Trip to Callao Cave, a barbecue lunch, and letters from home
Winners: Jefra Bland, Jeremiah Wood, Spencer Bledsoe & Tasha Fox

This reward was essential for Spencer, Jeremiah & Tasha because it was now the perfect opportunity to make Jefra flip on her alliance. In her vulnerable stat, Jefra agreed to join the bottom three to take out Tony. To add even more emotions to this reward, the group received letters from home. This was the IDEAL situation for Spencer, Jeremiah & Tasha because Jefra was at their mercy, emotionally.

WoofallsBack at camp Kass, Trish, Tony & Woo were nervous about Jefra being alone with Spencer, Jeremiah & Tasha. To help reduce the level of anxiety, Tony went on a search for the hidden immunity idol, but was unable to find anything. Trish & Woo decided to look for other means of food when they stumbled upon a papaya tree. Woo climbed all the way up the tree, but on his descent he fell, plummeting to the ground. Luckily, he only walked away with a hurt butt.

ChallengeImmunity

Hard to Handle

ep9immunityThe castaways must stand on an angled balance beam while balancing a ball. At regular intervals, they would move further down the beam, making it harder to keep steady. The last person standing wins.
Winner: Tasha Fox

Tasha is a challenge BEAST! Seriously, I would have never thought she would win two back to back individual immunity challenges. Survivor is full of blindsides & twists, so NEVER count any of your opponents out.

When Solarrion returned to camp, it was an easy decision for the majority alliance: Spencer or Jeremiah. Spencer, Jeremiah & Tasha met on the beach when Spencer revealed that he has the hidden immunity idol while Jeremiah revealed he is a model. If played correctly, Spencer could change the game.

stjep9Trish immediately knew there was something wrong with Jefra by the way she presented herself. This is why I really appreciate Trish’s game play. She pays attention to her alliance & talks to them unlike many people who push members away. Jefra told her she was going to flip on Tony to knock him out of the game, but Trish was able to bring Jefra back to the majority alliance. On the other hand Tony went looking again for the special hidden immunity idol to ensure his time on the island. Tony came across a large white tree with massive roots & this is where he began digging for the special hidden immunity idol. To his surprise, he located the SPECIAL hidden immunity idol.

Before going to tribal council, Jefra told Jeremiah that she is sticking to her alliance & she is sorry for not helping them.

At tribal council, Jefra was open about her options with Tony’s alliance & Spencer’s alliance. JeremiahlosesSpencer was very vocal about Tony’s alliance saying how frustrated he is with Trish, Woo, Jefra & Kass because Tony is pulling them along. Spencer & Tasha said if they end up on jury their votes would go to Tony because he is playing a phenomenal game. Before votes were read Spencer played the idol for himself, but he read Tony’s alliance wrong resulting in the elimination of Jeremiah.

How Accurate My Predictions Are!

Okay, so we are at the final 6 in this season! My lord how time flies. This season has been FULL of blindside after blindside. Survivor Cagayan has really brought back the Survivor series because the past few seasons were full of returning players & you know they decimate the game & win. With a whole season of new players, it has been truly amazing. And we always beat American Idol in views per week! KEEP IT UP MY SURVIVOR FAMILY! Without further ado, let’s take a walk down memory lane & compare my pregame evaluation to the current state of Survivor castaways!

1st person voted out

Reality – Prediction

70px-S28_david_c70px-S28_alexis_c

I put way too much of my confidence into Luzon, the brains tribe. I really thought they would have a better handle on this game!

2nd person voted out

Reality – Prediction

70px-S28_garrett_c70px-S28_morgan_c

Why did I even pick Garret to win it all?! He played like a fool & didn’t do so hot in challenges. Yes, on paper he seemed like the idol person to go all the way, but in reality he was god awful. Turned out that he was recruited by casting & didn’t know a thing about Survivor.

3rd person voted out

Reality – Prediction

70px-S28_brice_c70px-S28_brice_c

YAY! I got one right! Brice was too much of a social player & his tribe immediately saw that. Compared to the rest of his tribe, Brice wasn’t as physically strong as them. Even his alliance member Morgan lacked in physical strength making them targets.

4th person voted out

Reality – Prediction

70px-S28_jtia_c70px-S28_sarah_c

Okay, J’tia was absolutely crazy & should have been voted out first. The reason I chose Sarah was due to the fact of longevity & cops in Survivor. Cops never make it very far because people pick up on that cop attitude & their ability to read people. Cagayan has proven that cops are doing well this season.

5th person voted out

Reality – Prediction

70px-S28_cliff_c70px-S28_cliff_c

I felt this Cliff’s demise was very predictable. A large physical threat & he was aligning with a good alliance. But one bad apple in your alliance will ruin your game. Tony & Trish hated Lindsey & to take out Lindsey they would have to take out Cliff.

6th person voted out

Reality – Prediction

70px-S28_lindsey_c70px-S28_kass_c

I was HIGHLY upset Lindsey quit. There is no room for quitters on Survivor. I originally chose Kass due to her lack of physical strength & her pregame interview. Now seeing Kass in the final 6, I despise her. She thinks she is this master mind, but she is just riding coat tails until the end.

7th person voted out

Reality – Prediction

70px-S28_alexis_c70px-S28_tasha_c

Alexis was destined to not make the merge. Once the tribe swap occurred, Kass, Spencer & Tasha saw that Alexis was playing very hard & was going to be the most likely to flip on their alliance. I hate that I chose Tasha to be voted out – she is my favorite female player of this season & she is a challenge BEAST!

8th person voted out

Reality – Prediction

70px-S28_sarah_c70px-S28_tony_c

I wasn’t too surprised when Sarah went home, but this tribal council was the CRAZIEST I’ve ever seen. Two idols being played & a mutiny played by Kass. I really thought Tony wasn’t going to be playing this hard, but Tony is the biggest threat on the island with his super hidden immunity idol & a normal hidden immunity. Tony is making his way to the final 2.

9th person voted out

Reality – Prediction

70px-S28_morgan_c70px-S28_david_c

No idea how Morgan made it this far into the game, but that’s what I LOVE about Survivor! Never count anyone out. I hoped that David would go further, but Garret the moron took him out too early.

10th person voted out

Reality – Prediction

70px-S28_lj_c70px-S28_trish_c

LJ was betrayed by Tony & now Tony is safely flying to final tribal council. I wanted LJ to go further into this game because he is a great player – socially & physically. Trish is really surprising me this season. Her vital social abilities have saved her alliance when she was able to have Kass flip as soon as they merged.

11th person voted out

Reality – Prediction

70px-S28_jeremiah_c70px-S28_jtia_c

The media hyped up J’tia WAY too much & I fell for it. She was so bad, but I ranked her so high up. Jeremiah really wasn’t that outstanding of a player. He was a great guy, but Tasha & Spencer used him for their own game play.

12th person voted out

Reality – Prediction

70px-S28_jefra_c70px-S28_jefra_c

YAY!!! I got Jefra right! Like my prediction before, Jefra aligned with the right men, but once she said Tony’s name that was her end. Tony is so paranoid that the slightest name drop will cause him to explode & that’s exactly what happened to Jefra. Towards the end I really began to like Jefra & saw her as the next Natalie White, the winner of Survivor Samoa.

Survivor Cagayan Episode 8 Coverage

Bag of Tricks

Returning to camp, Tony immediately went off on Spencer, Jeremiah & Tasha. Two tribal councils they voted for Tony & were unsucessful to elminate him. Tony’s alliance took out Morgan for being “unworthy” of being on Survivor. I understand the situation at hand & coming close to being eliminated, but Tony is still in the game chasing after his million dollar prize. Tony is so complex, I want to say he isn’t a good social player, but at the same time he is able to manipulate other castaways to follow him. In total, Tony is the biggest threat on the island.

wootony1The following morning, Trish & LJ discussed Tony’s explosive behavior from last night’s tribal council. Tony’s paranoia is going to be his downfall. They need to make sure Tony feels secure with this alliance or else he is going to pull a Kass & flip on his alliance.

Challenge – Reward

Supertramp

tjswinThe castaways will be divided in three teams. One member of the team must throw a rope with a hook in a box with sandbags at the top of a platform and pull the hook to drop twenty sandbags. Then another team member must toss the sandbags to another who must throw them in a net tube. When all the sandbags are inside the net tube, all the members of the team must take off the sandbags from the tube. Then one member must toss the sandbags in a trampoline to reach five net baskets. The first team to put one sandbag on each basket, wins reward.
Reward: Trip to a Survivor Spa reward with Lunch
Winners: Jeremiah Wood, Spencer Bledsoe and Tony Vlachos

With Tony winning the reward with Jeremiah & Spencer, his alliance began to worry. Tony’s spontaneous pattern has proven that his is playing this game really hard & for himself. On the other hand, this was a great opportunity for Tony to conceive a big move. Spencer & Jeremiah are at the bottom so they will say anything, do anything to survive another three days. Spencer told Tony that he can use himself, Jeremiah, & Tasha as pawns to further Tony’s gameplay. The seed of paranoia has been planted by Spencer!

Back at camp Tasha wanted to speak to LJ seeing if he would consider a big move. LJ said he would listen & Tasha walked into the woods to speak with him. After a few minutes of standing around, LJ never showed up to listen to her. LJ was too afraid that Tony would find out & cause him to go crazy with paranoia.

Challenge – Individual Immunity

Living Color

tashawinsJeff would reveal a cycle of colored tiles to the castaways. Once the cycle is complete, the castaways would recite the pattern back by placing colored tiles in a chute. If they are incorrect, they would be eliminated. The last castaway standing wins immunity.
Winner: Tasha Fox

I’m SO happy Tasha won immunity! She is such a great castaway & I love to see her win things because this season she hasn’t won anything! In my opinion this challenge was pretty boring, but hey my favorite female castaway won! Remember when LJ stood up Tasha in the woods, well the joke is on LJ! HA!

Back at camp, everyone congratulated Tasha’s victory & the alliance of six had a foolproof plan on splitting the votes – the three men vote Spencer, the three women vote Jeremiah (Just in case of a hidden immunity idol) Trish, LJ, Jefra & Kass were very confident with their plan, but Tony was not on board. Tony pulled Woo aside saying he needs to take out LJ because that is his biggest threat. With Spencer’s offer still open to Tony, Tony decided to take advantage of the minority alliance’s numbers for this blindside.

ljlosesAt tribal council, Spencer told Jeff he was expecting the worst from the majority alliance of six & Kass even said, “Its a game, Jeff, and from here on out, people may start making moves like I made. You can’t play this game & not get a little dirty.” I have to say, Kass made a great point – BUT AFTER HER BIG MOVE SHE’S BEEN COASTING. Tony told Jeff he never knows what is going to happen so that’s why he brings his bag of tricks with him to tribal council. The idea of loyalty was throw around by LJ to make Tony feel better about his relationship with him, but once the votes were read the idea of loyalty was obliterated. Five votes LJ, three votes Jeremiah & one vote Spencer.

Survivor Cagayan Episode 7 Coverage

Mad Treasure Hunt

Mad Treasure HuntFinally returning to camp, the Solarrion tribe erupts due to Kass’ mutiny on the Aparri alliance. Kass admits that she is playing with her guts, but Spencer said she is playing with her estrogen. Morgan started yelling at Kass about her moves & Spencer just didn’t want to hear a word from Kass. Kass keeps saying, “I’m playing the game I want to play.” She also loves the fact that she causes so much chaos within the entire tribe.

The next morning, Kass slams Morgan about her daily actions by calling her lazy. With this move that Kass made at the last tribal council, she has no problem in calling people out. Morgan said, “I think she hates me because I’m cuter than her.” Okay Morgan, Kass is being rude but not for that reason. Honestly, this BIG move Kass made went straight to her head & I hate the way she is now acting.

The search for the new hidden immunity idol is on!

Reward Challenge

Rise & Shine

ep7reward1The Castaways were divided into two teams. After going through a series of obstacles to retrieve a wooden chest they then hauled it up a tall slope. The castaways must then assemble a ten piece puzzle. The first team to solve the puzzle and place the topper in the chest on top wins reward.

Best reward of the season – survivor themed outback steak house! YUMMY!!! That teeter totter was WILD! Woo’s shoes did not help him in this challenge. Classic Survivor knots. These rewards are amazing – potential game changing conversations can be said over these times away from the game. Yay purple! I want Tasha to win! Orange brought that up FAST, closed the gap & LJ is a wizard at puzzles FLYING through this. Winner, LJ ,Spencer, Jeremiah, Morgan & Jefraep7reward2

At camp, Kass, Woo, Trish, Tasha & Tony spoke about Spencer’s fate & even the Aparri’s alliance. Kass is closest to the Aparri alliance & the Solana alliance wants her information. She even revealed that she isn’t a flipper, but is playing her own game. Uh-oh, everyone needs to watch out for the wild cards. Woo & Tony decided to look for the new idol while the other five are away at reward – very smart play.

rewardfood.phpAt reward; steaks, baked potatoes, tomatoes, THE WORKS! This was sooo mouth watering & I’m not even on the show! While eating, Spencer finds THE CLUE TO THE HIDDEN IMMUNITY IDOL IN HIS NAPKIN – GAME CHANGER!

Once everyone was back at camp, the rain didn’t stop Spencer’s curiosity for the idol. He read the clue & found out where the hidden immunity could be. Woo was hot on his travel. The clue hinted beyond the water well & buried within the tree roots. Spencer didn’t even know Woo was behind him! Woo literally hid in all the bushes as Spencer was digging within the side of a wall of tree roots. After not finding the idol, Woo revealed himself, but found Spencer’s clue! Woo took off into the jungle with Spencer’s hidden idol clue! I have NEVER seen this in all 28 seasons of Survivor! These guys are playing HARD!!

huntWoo revealed to everyone that Spencer had a clue. Now EVERYONE is on the hunt! Both alliances are now forming search parties! Woo & LJ are running, Spencer is rounding up his alliance to catch up with them. Tony runs into the woods with a spear, Woo & Spencer are on top of each other, Jeremiah & Morgan are running through the river – everyone is freaking out! Literally all 10 castaways are after this idol.

In the midst of hell, Spencer apologizes to Kass while Spencer has his hand right on the idol. SPENCER HAS THE IDOL!

Immunity Challenge

Keep On Your Toes

The Survivors would each stand on a small wooden perch in an a-frame. They would brace a wooden block on their head and keep it in place using the wooden board above them. The structure would force the contestants to stand on their toes slightly, increasing the difficulty. The last person left with their wooden block intact wins immunity.
Winner: Spencer Bledsoe

This challenge is too much, I would lose real quick. Their faces are so FUNNY! You literally cannot move your head or body without this block falling. Spencer with the big W!

ep7immunityAfter the individual immunity challenge, Spencer won on top of finding the hidden immunity idol! The Solana alliance has begun to target Tasha & Morgan because they don’t believe they would share it with her. Morgan has been called lazy & isn’t worthy of being here. Plan A is Morgan & Plan B is Tasha. Once again Kass is middle man, while the Aparri alliance has decided on voting Tony out. Because Kass is in the middle Kass may flip & take out Tony. Spencer asked Kass to intervene & vote with his alliance. Spencer has gotten over the betrayal & asked Kass to really consider his offer of voting out Tony. Kass has no alliance & is looking to sit in the final 2/3.

ep7tribalAt tribal, the tension, once again, began to build when Kass admitted her mutiny. Spencer also admitted his high levels of emotions towards Kass & said he is over her betrayal. Morgan pleaded her case of not being a threat & no likeability making her an easy castaway to take to the finals. Trish retaliated by saying, “She is lazy & I can add more to the list of unlikeable abilities.” Morgan even confessed that she is used to being pampered in the real world. There is always someone in the bottom & this will be an interesting vote because Kass is at the bottom of both alliances. Kass bluntly admits to not being afraid of beating friends in competitions. Spencer did not play his hidden immunity idol before votes were read. After all the convincing, Kass did not swap on her new alliance resulting in the elimination of Morgan.morganloses

Top 5 Merged Tribes

With merge already in effect in Survivor: Cagayan, it is only fitting to have a top 5 merged tribes! In my opinion, once the merge occurs the game REALLY begins! Former tribes & outliers look for cracks & faults within the main alliances. Over the seasons we have seen small alliances TAKE over the entire game & nail themselves a spot in the final tribal council. Who doesn’t love an underdog?! So without further ado, here are my top 5 favorite merged tribes! PS ( I love the under dogs!)

#5. Dangrayne – Survivor Philippines

The Philippines started out with three tribes, consisting of six members, Matsing, Kalabaw, & Tandang. The first four episodes of the season, Matsing lost leaving Malcolm & Denise join each of the tribes remaining. Malcolm went to Tandang & Denise joined Kalabaw. Denise continued to visit tribal council with Kalabaw, while Tandang made it a statement to never visit tribal council until the merge. Then Tandang’s fractures began to show – with RC being the first voted out. Old tribes & alliances didn’t mean Dangrayneanything at this point – the only ones who stayed together were Mike Skupin & Lisa Whelchel. Abi-Maria Gomes proved to be a mean, volatile & down right rude person. It was a task to get rid of Abi because she found a hidden immunity idol & even won individual immunity securing her place until the final five. The underdogs, Malcolm & Denise proved themselves to be assets to the majority alliance. Coming from a tribe that lost every member, Malcolm & Denis remained loyal to each other until Denise voted him out in the final four because she knew Malcolm would have a clean sweep of the jury votes. Denise, Skupin & Lisa sat in the final three, but the victor being Denise – the sex therapist who survived EVERY single tribal this season.

#4. Aitutonga – Survivor Cook Islands

Starting with four tribes based on ethnicity, this season was pretty intense. Not only was this season amazing,Aitutonga but three iconic castaways made their debut; Candice Cody, Ozzy Lusth & Parvati Shallows. Candice & Parvati were jury members while Ozzy came in second place, but won fan favorite. The major real I LOVE this merged tribe is the Aitutaki four consisting of Yul, Ozzy, Sundra & Becky. These four were against extreme odds – four of them verses eight Rarotonga members. Literally these four Aitutaki members were the final four castaways in the game. Thanks to Yul’s excellent social game & Ozzy’s physical dominance in challenges, these four did not let the extreme disadvantage get in the way of their success. I just love how these four were so strategic in picking off these members one by one.

#3. Forza – Survivor Tocantins

Forza is the merged tribe from Survivor: Tocantins, sporting the color of green. This tribe is comprised of 4 Jalapao members & 6 Timbira members. Not only are the Jalapao members at a disadvantage, but within the same day as thForzae merge & immunity challenge, Jalapao member Joe Dowdle was medically evacuated due to a serious knee injury, adding to Timbira’s power. With the excellent social skills, JT was able to convince Coach to vote out one of Timbira’s own, Brendan. JT began to play off Coach’s philosophy of, “Play with honorable, loyal & respectful castaways.” Coach was the biggest fracture in Timbira’s tribe ultimately crumbling the massive power Timbira had over Jalapao. One by one, JT, Stephen & Taj (the last 3 Jalapao members) took out the Timbira tribe until JT & Stephen turned on Taj in the final 4, sending her home with a hidden immunity idol. JT & Stephen sat in the final 2 – JT completely owning up to everything & working the jury very well while Stephen sucked. JT’s jury’s voted him unanimously Sole Survivor. This is the first time in Survivor history to have a castaway play a “Perfect Game” – meaning JT never received a vote for elimination, but received every jury vote for the victory.

#2. Aiga –  Survivor Samoa

The Foa Foa four against eight Galu members – one would think that Galu would pick these four off immediately… well you guessed wrong! Russel, Mick, Jaison & Natalie literally DEMOLISHED the eight members that stood in front of them. Galu proved to be a very fractured & broken tribe. The first vote was one of Galu’s own, Erik but Russel insisted on playing a hidden immunity to save himself.. Natalie was able to persuade the girls of Galu to take him out because he was talking about flipping on them, which was a complete lie. After surviving the first tribal as a merged tribe, Russel went into overdrive to find more hidden immunities to save himself, in which he did. (Russel found a total of three hidden immunity idolsaiga this season) The next tribal council, Galu didn’t think Russel could find another hidden immunity idol, oh they were wrong blindsiding Kelly. Russel made a deal with John that if John votes out one of his own, Russel will vote out one of his own next, another lie which John fell for voting Laura out following his own elimination. As Galu crumbled, they began to listen to Russel & the Foa Foa four. Fianlly when Galu member Brett won three individual immunities back to back the Foa Foa four had to vote out their own – Russel was going mad with the lies everyone told each other and the decided to vote Jaison. As vicious as Russel was he played a very good game – in the final three Russel, Natalie, & Mick would be crowned Sole Survivor. The jury voted strictly on emotion giving Natalie the victory because she played a strong social game & let Russel take all the damage.

#1. Dabu – Survivor Micronesia

Dabu one of my favorite tribes because of all the blindsides that occurred on this tribe – they were VICIOUS! Due to Parvati’s alliance with two favorites, Alexis & Natalie along with her former alliance of SURVIVOR: MICRONESIA - FANS VS. FAVORITESCirie & Amanda these women were out for blood. Being a Fans Vs Favorites season, the big threats of favorites remained – James & Ozzy. Parvati spun a web of alliances that she was able to perfectly maintain. With her power she decided to take this women to the end. They took out Ozzy with a hidden immunity idol, then Jason with a hidden immunity idol & tricked Erik into GIVING up his immunity necklace which resulted in an elimination immediately. But that was just the boys, Amanda blindsided Alexis with her hidden immunity idol, then Natalie was the only female non favorite standing at this point when Amanda, Parvati & Cirie took her out. Thinking it was a final three, these girls rejoiced to only be blindsided by Survivor with a final two. Amanda won the final challenge & voted Cirie out because of her popularity with the jury. Parvati won the title of Sole Survivor due to her big moves & devious game play.

Survivor Cagayan Episode 6 Coverage

Head of the Snake

It’s MERGE-DAY, MERGE-DAY. GOTTA GET DOWN ON MERGE-DAY! The best part of merg1Survivor – the Merge, when both tribes come together & it is now every man for themselves! There are eleven castaways left – six on Aparri & five on Solana. On paper, Aparri is looking good with the majority of numbers, but this is Survivor & ANYTHING is possible when it comes to the merge. Both tribes are now living on the old Aparri beach. One of my favorite ALL time things on Survivor is the buff color & this year’s new merged tribe is black. Okay, so it may be over used, but I BOUGHT IT ANYWAY!

As protocol with the merge is the LOVELY merge feast! Baskets full with food these castaways have been deprived of for the last 19 days. Tony came up with the new tribe name, “Solarrion” a combination of Solana and Aparri. Personally, I love the name. I don’t like that they used both tribes – where is the Luzon tribe love?! With the newly formed Solarrion tribe indulging with their feast, a note was left for the new tribe to read out loud.

Survivor twist – New hidden immunity idol. This idol has “special powers” unlike the hidden immunity idols that are already in play. This idol can be played AFTER the votes are read. solarrion

This adds a WHOLE new dynamic to the already complex game that is Survivor. This is why I’m OBSESSED with this Survivor. Each season adds another depth of complexity.

After the happy, go lucky merge feast the games were back on – the new hidden immunity idol & the disadvantage of the Solana alliance. Aparri already told each other that there are a solid 6 & there is NO way to break them up. Tony knew it was pivotal to get Sarah back into their alliance to win majority & take control of this game. Sarah already cut ties with Tony & her former tribe mates after the last tribal immunity challenge when Tony began to yell, “TOP 5 BABY!” Sarah could not give her word to Tony.

Challenge – Individual Immunity

Bermuda Triangles

The castaways would stand on slanted slates, on a podium, over the water.  At regular intervals, they would move up to a higher set of slates, making it harder to balance.  After 30 minutes, the castaways would move to the top of the podium, where the last person left standing wins immunity.
Winner: Woo

individual1This challenge is a wild card – everyone seemed good until the last slate. I thought Survivor turned into dominoes for a second because 8 people fell off as soon as they stood up on the final stage, leaving Tony, Morgan & Woo. I was very surprised Morgan was up there in the final three! But as soon as I began to root for her, she fell off leaving Tony & Woo. The Survivor Gods must have been watching because the BIGGEST gust of wind came in while both men fought hard to stay balanced on that structure. Tony struggled a lot to stay alive, but he just could not keep his balance, granting Woo the first individual immunity.

woowinsWith Woo winning the challenge, the old Aparri tribe knew they had to take out either, Jefra or Trish because they are the least likely to have the idol & they may even flush out an idol, but Sarah was not on board. Sarah believed that her alliance should target Tony or LJ. Sarah also believed that Tony or LJ didn’t have the hidden immunity idol, which was dumb because she had ZERO evidence while both of them walked around camp with their hidden immunity idols. Sarah… what are you doing?! YOU MUST ASSUME EVERY POSSIBLE OUTCOME & VOTE ACCORDINGLY. As Sarah argued, Kass began to really let Sarah know what she felt is best for their alliance. This made Sarah feel isolated. Like her alliance didn’t care about her vote making her emotions volatile. In one of her confessions she stated, “I will make the decision on who goes home next, I’m the president right now.”  She is not the kind of person her alliance should be pissing off.

Kass was not having it from Sarah because of two things: one player shouldn’t have this much power & just because Sarah voted with Kass’ alliance once, that doesn’t make her a core trustworthy member. With these motives in Kass’ mind along with the way her alliance treats her, Trish reached out to Kass by asking her to flip. The Solana alliance will vote for whoever Kass votes for. This was a BEAUTIFUL social play on Trish’s part. Trish approached Kass with open arms & catered to Kass’ emotions & logic.

tribalcrazyAs for tribal council, OH LORD HOLD ON! Tony pulled out the big guns after Jeff asked about hidden immunity idols in the game. Tony LITERALLY showed the castaways his idol after Spencer called him out, saying it was a bluff. The Aparri alliance scrambled, saying “The other vote. The other vote.” Tony even said it is a community idol & it just isn’t for Tony. Both alliances huddling together in whispers, “Keep it the same.” “No, the other one!” Jeff was boggled! Once all castaways went up to vote, the drama intensified – Tony played his idol for LJ, BUT WAIT! LJ pulled out his idol (which his tribe didn’t know about) & played it for Tony! Jeff read the votes & it appeared that Tony & LJ did not read the Aparri tribe very well. Jefra got 5 votes, while Sarah got 5 votes as well. With the final vote, Sarah was eliminated. Kass flipped on her alliance.

Survivor Cagayan Episode 5 Coverage

We Found Our Zombies

We Found Our ZombiesComing back to camp, Solana’s tribe was highly divided – Lindsey immediately confronted Trish, not about the game but on a personal level. Trish said “I don’t care about you, I never liked you.” and Lindsey rebutted with, “You’re a bully & I don’t care what you think.” As tensions rose, Lindsey removed herself from camp & isolated herself from everyone to call Jeff Probst in. Lindsey said, “If I stay here any longer with Trish I will do something bad.” She didn’t want to her daughter to see what could happen if Lindsey remained with Trish, ultimately removing herself from the game. Tony & Trish were convinced that Lindsey quit because her closest ally, Cliff was blindsided earlier that night.

As both tribes entered for the reward challenge, Aparri was ecstatic to discover two Solana members were taken out of the game.

Challenge – Reward

Idol Hands

Facing off one against one in a fenced off circle, a castaway from each tribe would hold a wooden idol on top of a ihtrishtashaplatform that they would hold in one hand. They would use the other free hand to attempt to knock their opponent’s idol off the platform. The castaway whose idol hit the ground last would score one point for their tribe. The first tribe with four points win.
Reward: Camp raid
Winner: Solana

This challenge is always fun because there are different techniques used to win, like throwing your idol REALLY high into the air then campraidtackling the shit out of other person to know their idol down first. In all honesty, when it was Morgan Vs Tony that was completely unfair – he just tackled her. Even Jeremiah’s fumble was very entertaining, I thought he was going to catch it, but sadly no.

With the victory over Aparri, Solana was able to send two members, Woo & Tony, over to raid their camp of supplies, taking all of the the Aparri’s tribe luxury items, in hopes to dwindle their morale for the remainder of the game. As Woo & Tony were raiding the Aparri camp, Tony found a clue for the hidden immunity idol, THINKING it was for the Aparri tribe. Tony announced it out loud & gave it to Jeremiah trying to place a target on his back. Once Jeremiah read it, he realized that it wasn’t for his camp & so did Tony. Tony then said he had to take it back because it was their ultimate decision as the winning tribe.

Challenge – Immunity

Styx

immunitystairsThe tribes had to place poles of varying lengths into their holders to form a staircase, and then run up it. They would then make their way through a multi-story wooden maze. Once every tribe member had made it through the maze, one tribe member would retrieve a key and use it to unlock a box of puzzle pieces. Two other tribe members then had to use the puzzle pieces to solve a puzzle, which displayed three numbers. They had to use the three numbers to solve a code, the first tribe to solve their code and raise their flag won.
Winner: Solana

The biggest thing about Solana winning this challenge was Tony screaming, “TOP FIVE BABY!” as Aparri watched in disgust. Sarah was the one who was hurt most by this because three out of those five Solana members were her former alliance. Tony is such a douchebag & is so rude – it will definitely come back to kick him in the ass.

Back at Aparri, Alexis tried to get the tribe on board with voting for Jeremiah because he was thealexisloses most likely castaway to flip on the new Aparri tribe at the merge. As much as she tried to persuade her tribe, she kept painting the target on her back bigger & bigger. Jeremiah revealed to Spencer & Alexis that there is no way he has the hidden immunity idol because Tony’s attempt to target Jeremiah failed – the clue was for the Solana tribe, not Aparri.

Once at tribal it was very apparent that Alexis was playing too hard & thinking way too strategically to keep her around, ultimately eliminating her in a 6-1 vote.

Top 5 Individual Immunity Challenges

Merged tribe means individual immunity challenges & every man for themselves! Individual immunity challenges range from endurance or strategic challenges so everyone is on the same playing field. It really wouldn’t be fair if there was just one kind of immunity challenge. When individual immunity rolls around, typically the biggest physical threats are targeted first. Individual immunity ALWAYS has me on the edge of my seat because you never know what is going to happen! Some individual immunities have lasted hours & hours due to the determination of the castaways.

#5. Survivor Smorgasbord

foodIn this challenge, castaways must eat a variety of native, (usually gross) foods. This challenge has appeared multiple times throughout the survivor series. When it is seen as a tribal challenge, whoever finishes the chosen dish first, wins a point for the tribe. When this challenge is used as an individual challenge, the last person to finish the dish is out, the last man standing wins.

Seasons featured in (as individual immunity): Thailand(Helen), The Amazon(Matt), All-Stars(Tom), Caramoan(Cochran), & Blood Vs Water(Monica).

monicac cochran tomb matte heleng

ALWAYS a Survivor classic! This challenge has been used in 14 seasons, but only 5 of those seasons was it an individual immunity challenge. The reason I love this challenge is because it doesn’t matter how big, small, strong or weak you are – if you can eat these gross dishes you win! Most of the time it is someone out of the blue who takes home the big W & immunity necklace.

#4. Get a Grip

The castaways must hang onto a pole as long as they can. The last person left holding on without touching the ground wins.

Seasons featured in: Vanuatu(Twilia), Cook Islands(Ozzy), Tocantins(Tyson), Heroes Vs Villains(Danille) – South Pacific(Ozzy) & Blood Vs Water(Laura), where this challenged was used as a duel instead of an individual immunity challenge.

twiliatozzyltysona danilledozzylduel   lauramduel

Get a Grip is solely an endurance challenge, but not only of the body, but of the mind. The castaways have to hold on for dear life to a wooden, unforgiving pole, in the hot environment of the island. The reason I chose this challenge is because of the endurance involved – honestly I’m not entirely sure how I would put up with this demanding challenging.

#3. House of Cards

THE VICTORIA'S SECRET FASHION SHOWEach competitor has 150 to 200 wooden tiles. They must use the tiles to build a house of cards up to certain height. The first person to reach the target height wins. However, if there is a specified time limit, the person with the tallest house of cards when time expires wins.

Seasons featured in (as individual immunity): Gabon(Susie), Heroes Vs Villains(Jerri), & South Pacific(Ozzy).

susiesjerritozzylduel

House of Cards is another challenge that is ANYBODY’S game. The strategy behind this is difficult & the time constraint is nerve wracking. I’m not an engineer, but I did play with a lot of legos as a child! Even the environment takes some time to adapt to – it could be windy & if that factor isn’t considered your tower is going DOWN. I really love seeing wildcards win this challenge, like Susie. This was her final immunity challenge & she won it guaranteeing her a seat in the final 3 – if you watched Gabon you would have NEVER thought Susie would win final immunity.

#2. When It Rains, It Pours

Go out with a bangOne arm above their head, with their wrist tethered to a bucket of water, on top of a platform. The castaway who could stand there the longest without tipping the bucket would win. At random points during the challenge, the host would tempt the contestants with food items. They would get the food item only if they step down.

Seasons featured in: Africa (Teresa), All-Stars(Shii Ann), Micronesia(Parvati), Heroes Vs Villains(Parvati) & One World(Chelsea).

chelseam parvatis2 parvatis1 shiiannh teresac

One reason I love this challenge – all women have won it. You go ladies! Out of the 5 victories, Parvati has won it twice. Another reason to love this challenge is because of Jeff’s temptation towards the castaways – every so many minutes/hours he bribes the castaways to step down for food! The greatest moment of this challenge was in Micronesia when Jeff came out with a hidden temptation & Alexis dropped her arm before he could saying resulting in NOTHING for her! She was thoroughly pissed off.

#.1 Last Gasp

gaspThe players must swim under a steel grate and stay above the water. As the tide rises, player will run out of breathing room. If the fear of drowning is too much, that person can bail out. The last person still in the grate wins the challenge.

Seasons featured in: Palau(Tom), Micronesia(Jason) & Caramoan(Brenda)

As for my favorite Survivor Individual Immunity Challenge, it has to be Last Grasp. If this challenge doesn’t give you anxiety, you’re watching the wrong show or something is wrong with your brain. The claustrophobia that is induced with this challenge is out of control! As scary as this challenge is, I want to participate in it so badly! For this, you really need to be able to zone out the entire world while trying your best to not choke on salty ocean water.

This is exactly what they need to boost their morale to take on this competition with guns BLAZING! Come on Luzon, I love you guys! With all three tribes on the same beach, Jeff dropped a game changer.

Never in a million years would I think the Luzon tribe would stick together after the tribe shuffle. What the hell are the odds of that?! Right now Sarah can be a pivotal player in this tribe – three Luzon, three Solana, & one Aparri. Whoever she decides to align with can turn this game upside down. LOVE IT! As for Solana, it’s five Aparri members with two Solana members – Aparri has all the power on this tribe. As soon as tribes were swapped, Jeff sent the castaways straight into their reward challenge.

Challenge – Reward

Kicking and Screaming

One member of each tribe would hang on to a post. Two members of the opposing tribe would attempt to remove the tribe member from the post and drag them across the sand to the finish line. The first tribe to get the member of the other tribe across the finish line would receive one point.
Reward: Coffee and pastries
Winner: Solana

This reward challenge is SO physical & wild – I love it. What I did not love was the fact that Solana put Cliff on the pole. Cliff is 6’10 and 220rewardcagayan pounds! How the hell was Jeremiah & Spencer suppose to get him off the freakin’ pole?! So that’s the only reason why Solana won, but its okay it was just reward. In all honesty, I would not want this reward. After days of no food, the last thing I would want is coffee.

Once tribes made it back to their new camps, alliances started to show their fractures. At Solana, Jefra & LJ were on the bottom of the majority alliance – they were the only two Solana members against four Aparri members. LJ & Trish quickly became friends based on the fact of being from the same state, Massachusetts. Trish also is a single mom & her flirtatious vibes were definitely glowing bright around LJ. Cliff, Lindsey & Woo saw this, knowing that Trish was on the bottom of the Aparri tribe. She HAD to be watched so she wouldn’t flip on them. Even Jefra got a hold of Trish while they went for water where Trish revealed that she didn’t want Lindsey & Cliff in this game. Slowly the power of the tribe began to crumble.

Over at the Aparri, there was a big mix of each tribe- three from Luzon (Kass, Tasha, & Spencer) three from Solana (Jeremiah, Alexis & Morgan) & one Aparri member (Sarah). To have majority of this tribe, four members have to vote together. Theoretically, both Luzon & Solana should be fighting for Sarah’s vote but Solana proved otherwise. Kass, Tasha & Spencer are so tight & FINALLY they demonstrate what it takes to be on the brains tribe. Every single member from Solana came to them saying they want to go with the Luzon three ALSO revealing all information about the Solana tribe. Alexis told Kass, Tasha & Spencer she wanted to flip, Morgan talked shit about Alexis to Kass, Tasha, & Spencer, Jeremiah pulled Tasha aside saying he wanted to go with them. By all the drama & pettiness of the Solana tribe, Sarah had nothing to worry about. In the matter of a few hours, Luzon has become a power house in this game.

Challenge – Immunity

Gate Crasher

Each tribe uses a puzzle log to break through two sets of gates; then, they must turn, pull and push the puzzle log to navigate a maze that is worked into the surface of the log. Once the log is cleared from the maze station, the first tribe to hit a gong at the end of the course wins immunity.cagayanchallenge
Winner: Aparri

With Solana having ALL of the physical strength on their tribe, Aparri looked like they were going to lose BIG time. Solana proved to push through the gates pretty fast while Aparri struggled. Once Aparri moved some members around they began to crush through the gates. At the last leg of the race Aparri & Solana were neck & neck. This episode really highlighted the Brains coming into play & taking control – Kass, Tasha & Spencer solved the puzzle & claimed victory for their newly formed tribe.

cliffoutWith the first tribal council for the new Solana tribe tensions were high because of the fear of Trish flipping alliances with Jefra & LJ. But it shouldn’t matter because Tony, Cliff, Woo & Lindsey would be together. LJ would be safe because of his hidden immunity idol. Well it turned out Tony voted for Cliff, along with Jefra, LJ, & Trish because he said “of strategist reasons.” This BLINDSIDED Cliff along with Woo & Lindsey.

Survivor Cagayan Episode 3 Coverage

Our Time to Shine

Once Solana returned back to camp from tribal council, Morgan wasted no time dealing with the collateral damage she suffered from Brice’s elimination. Angered by Jeremiah’s actions, she did not mind calling him out in front of the entire tribe. Later on that night, Morgan apologized to Alexis for casting her vote against her saying that Jeremiah actually was the one who came up to her & convinced her to vote for Alexis.

The following morning Luzon was bestowed with the first reward challenge that wasn’t paired up with immunity! YAY!! The training wheels of the game are slowly coming off & we are actually seeing the shift from the starter episodes.

Challenge – Reward

Haulin’ Oats

One member of each tribe would act as a caller while two other blindfolded tribe members would navigate the course to retrieve five items and a flag, eventually working with a third blindfolded tribemate to hoist the items up to the caller’s platform. The first two tribes to get all of its items to the top of their platform win.
Reward: Chickens and a rooster for the first tribe; Twelve eggs for the second tribe.
Winners (in order of finish): Solana & Aparri

Luzon shouldn’t count their eggs before the hatch because WHAT THE HELL?! Luzon was killing it & had jtiaricesuch a strong lead over Aparri – Oh that’s right, J’tia ONCE AGAIN lost the challenge. For a nuclear engineer who works for the United States of America, she is unable to complete games on a reality show. (I had to add this picture for comedic relief from the terrible survivor castaway we know as J’tia.) For this challenge as a whole, it was very entertaining to watch all these people watch around blindfolded & just run into objects. It was such a good episode. This episode exemplifies, that in the game of Survivor, you should NEVER give up because the game can change in the blink of an eye. It also projects this theory to not only challenges, but the social aspects & strategic moves made by castaways. One conversation can TURN this game upside – never give up in Survivor.HaulinOats

Solana brought their chickens back to camp & to LJ’s surprise, he saw a small note within the basket, quickly snatching it up. A sense of relief rushed over him know it was the hidden immunity clue – which he already possessed himself. Some comedic relief in this episode – listening to the Solana women talk about how eggs from chickens are made. Alexis, who attends Northwestern didn’t know if the chickens were “asexual” or “if the roosters got it on with the hens.” On the topic of chickens, Jeremiah broke the one chicken’s neck so the tribe could eat it, but instead of it dying, the chicken was running around camp FREAKING out the beauty tribe.

Aparri’s camp life was starting to burst at the seams – Sarah’s paranoia was beginning to get the best of her, questioning her alliance to Tony & what Cliff’s & Lindsey’s intentions were. Sarah decided to confront Woo, who is a close friend of Cliff’s, asking Woo to help throw the challenge without Cliff & Lindsey knowing – resulting in voting out Cliff.

Challenge – Immunity

Octopus’ Garden

One member from each tribe at a time will dive to a buoy in the water.  They will dive down to a series of buoys submerged at different levels.  The first buoy would be 1 meter underwater, the second 2 meters, and so on. Once all the buoys have been brought back to the platform, they will shoot the buoys into a basket out in the ocean.  The first two tribes to get all their buoys in the basket win immunity.
Winners (in order of finish): Solana & Aparri

Okay, a basketball related challenge with Cliff (former NBA player) & Aparri is going to throw the challenge. Good luck trying that. Solana has really been kicking ass in these challenges, when I predicted their tribe to be pretty awful. In my opinion, I find it disrespectful to throw a challenge – handle your Our Time to Shineproblems when the times comes. Good thing Cliff is such a team player that he put the team on his back & carried them to victory. Speaking of hard working players, Spencer is doing the best he can do with his tribe. I give him so much credit for all the work he puts into each challenge. Where as J’Tia couldn’t even help retrieve the balls to throw back to Spencer. While Aparri tried to throw the challenge, they won & while Luzon tried their hardest to win, they lost. A moment of silence please.

JtiaDying

Dude, we tried so hard to blow that challenge. Seriously, green tribe, I tried to help you out, but that team sucks! They deserve to lose after that! It’s all I can say.” Sarah from Aparri.

With the inevitable tribal council that will leave Luzon with three castaways, the women are in an alliance of three leaving Spencer on the outs. Kass & Tasha then begin to question J’Tia because literally she sucks so bad at this game of Survivor, but she has always remained loyal to Kass & Tasha. Spencer has proven himself to be the only competent physical aspect to the Luzon tribe. At this point they really need to win challenges because they are going to be decimated within a few days.

JtialosesAt tribal council, Tasha & Kass decided to keep Spencer around because J’Tia really hasn’t been contributing to the tribe at all since day one. She may have been loyal, but that doesn’t cut it in their situation. Saving Spencer definitely solidified the three last Luzon castaways.
